Overview
- The 34th edition runs from 18 September to 12 December across eight municipalities with 92 shows, including 16 international productions, 22 coproductions and 28 premieres.
- Patti Smith opens with concerts on 18–19 September, while Thomas Ostermeier’s landmark Hamlet provides the theatrical inauguration on 11–12 October after a 17‑year absence from Catalonia.
- The festival maintains a budget of about €3 million and will release more than 62,000 tickets for an initial 145 performances in 22 venues.
- Big Bang, the industry weekend on 20–23 November, features the world premiere of Angélica Liddell’s Seppuku. El funeral de Mishima o el placer de morir.
- A new Barcelona cycle, Flaix de Tardor‑BCN, runs 21 October–15 November with support from the Generalitat and Barcelona City Council at venues including Teatre Lliure, Mercat de les Flors, Teatre Goya, Centre de les Arts Lliures and La Villarroel.
