Officials urge residents to file damage reports to validate losses for state and federal aid.

Overview

  • The center operates Oct. 23–25 from noon to 7 p.m. at Community Christian Church, 1701 S. College Ave.
  • Participating groups include American Red Cross, Tempe Care 7, Arizona Department of Housing, the Salvation Army, Team Rubicon and the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, offering debris guidance, counseling, food and emergency resources.
  • City crews have assessed more than 600 damage areas while about 250 resident self-reports are being validated to document losses.
  • Maricopa County officials report damage across many square miles touching 7–10 neighborhoods, with more than 500 buildings damaged and about 130 people displaced.
  • Some tenants still lack gas or air conditioning, the city has provided shelter and showers, the Red Cross is serving meals, and regulators on site are warning about unlicensed contractors.
