Telekom Raises Legacy Landline Prices Effective Oct. 1 as Vodafone Hikes Cable Tariffs

Affected customers can cancel under special terms to cut costs by switching to low‑price mobile plans.

Overview

  • Deutsche Telekom increased monthly fees by €2.50 to €3 for five voice‑only landline tariffs (Call Plus, Call Start, Call Time, Call Basic, Call Comfort) starting October 1.
  • Telekom also lifted prices for current internet bundles for new customers by €1 per month from October 1, with select older internet tariffs for existing customers set to rise by €3 from November.
  • Vodafone raised prices for all cable plans for new customers on September 29, shortened promotional pricing to nine months, and reinstated a €49.99 connection fee, while reintroducing GigaZuhause CableMax at €49.99 per month.
  • Telekom says the changes reflect falling use of standalone landline services and higher operating costs, noting these legacy connections require costly support.
  • Customers were notified since late July and may exercise a special termination right; switching to Allnet‑flat mobile plans can save up to about €228 per year, with SIM‑equipped desk phones as a non‑smartphone option.
