Telecom Complaints Hit Record Lows, EE Ranks Worst for Broadband, Landline and Pay-TV

Ofcom’s April–June report points to narrow gaps between mobile networks.

Overview

  • Ofcom reported that overall complaints fell from the first quarter to the lowest or joint-lowest levels on record across landline, mobile, broadband and pay-TV.
  • EE generated the most complaints for broadband, landline and pay-TV in the April–June quarter, marking the first time since late 2023 that one provider led three categories.
  • EE ranked among the least complained-about mobile operators alongside Tesco Mobile and Vodafone, with its mobile complaints falling or remaining flat versus the previous quarter.
  • Three received the most mobile complaints, though Ofcom said the differences between providers were so small that performance was hard to meaningfully distinguish.
  • Plusnet drew the fewest fixed-broadband complaints, Utility Warehouse led landline for an 18‑month run, TalkTalk had the fewest pay‑TV issues, and Ofcom cited faults, connection and switching problems as key drivers while EE and Virgin Media O2 highlighted investments and onboarding effects in their responses.
