Telangana Unveils Three-Year Plan to Upgrade Medical Colleges and Introduce Japanese in Nursing

  • Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy ordered officials to draft a comprehensive action plan to ensure all government medical colleges are fully functional with required facilities within three years.
  • An official committee will visit each campus to identify infrastructure needs, prioritize urgent works and estimate funding requirements.
  • The government will offer Japanese as an optional language in nursing courses following strong demand from Japan and with Tokyo’s expressed support.
  • Officials must report on appointments, faculty promotions, bed strength enhancements and fill vacant posts while flagging central funding and approval delays for escalation to Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda.
  • Reddy also called for development of a hospital operations app and instructed monthly reviews of health and education departments to track progress.
