Overview
- The state government issued GO Rt No. 564 on Friday to create a high-level committee chaired by Chief Commissioner of Land Administration D.S. Lokesh Kumar to examine 12 Section 22-A issues.
- Law Secretary Papi Reddy and IG of Stamps and Registration Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu are named as committee members and the panel has a one-month target to decide the identified cases.
- A separate order, GO 118, directs fast-track regularisation of about 9,700–9,792 plots in the LB Nagar constituency with the application process set to begin on Saturday and decisions to be made within a month, subject to any court stays.
- The government will review layouts approved earlier by HMDA, GHMC or DTCP that remain on the prohibited list and says it will decide within days whether to remove eligible plots from Section 22-A after verification.
- Officials will also reopen work on Singareni coal-belt housing under legacy GO 76 with a meeting led by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to start local regularisation, and outcomes remain contingent on legal orders and verification.
