Telangana Sets Jan. 12 Launch for 'Arrive Alive' Road Safety Drive
Police plan a 10-day statewide push targeting high-risk violations through district-to-village leadership.
Overview
- Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the programme at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on January 12.
- Operations will run across Telangana from January 13 to 24, excluding festival holidays.
- The effort aims to reduce accidents and fatalities by promoting defensive driving and broad public participation.
- Priority enforcement will address helmet and seat belt non-use, drunk driving, mobile phone use while driving, wrong-side driving, signal and stop-line violations, overloading of autos, meter and uniform breaches, high-beam misuse, and unsafe overtaking.
- Implementation will be led by police commissioners and district SPs with SDPOs, CIs, SIs, and village traffic safety committees engaging schools, youth, transport operators, and community groups.
