Overview
- Telangana and the Japan International Cooperation Agency will officially activate the Telangana Data Exchange platform on July 2, creating the country’s first state-sponsored digital public infrastructure for artificial intelligence.
- Developed by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru with strategic guidance from JICA’s DXLab, TGDeX offers AI developers access to high-quality data and collaborative tools.
- The exchange will draw on Open Data Telangana to provide public access to an initial set of AI-ready datasets, with a goal of hosting over 2,000 datasets within five years.
- Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has invited startups, academia, industry partners and government agencies to participate in the platform’s ecosystem.
- The launch is a flagship action under Telangana’s AI Strategy and complements national efforts like the Centre’s IndiaAI Mission to bolster AI innovation and infrastructure.
