• Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has rejected the AFRC’s proposed 52–84% fee increases for BTech and other engineering courses for the 2025–26 academic year.
• He directed that engineering admissions counselling proceed on schedule under the existing fee structure until the review is complete.
• The government has appointed a committee to conduct college-wise inspections of faculty strength, laboratories, infrastructure and student amenities.
• The panel will examine the Vigilance and Enforcement Department’s earlier report alongside landmark Supreme Court judgments in Islamic Academy of Education v. Karnataka and P.A. Inamdar v. Maharashtra.
• Future fee slabs will be based on AICTE quality benchmarks aimed at raising Telangana’s engineering colleges to world-class standards, particularly in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence.
