Telangana Proposes Dedicated TaiwanTelangana Manufacturing Zone for Textile Firms

Overview

  • Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu told a Taiwanese delegation led by Taiwan Textile Federation president Justin Huang that the government would explore a TelanganaTaiwan Manufacturing Zone and exclusive textile clusters if investors commit.
  • The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park provides integrated infrastructure from ginning and spinning through weaving, processing and garmenting, and has drawn major investors including Youngone, Kitex and Ganesha Ecosphere.
  • Telangana’s industrial gross state value added climbed to ₹2.77 lakh crore in 2024-25, with textiles serving as a primary growth driver underpinned by the state’s high-quality cotton.
  • The government highlighted functional and technical textiles, eco-friendly dyeing, recycling, electronics system design and manufacturing, sustainable production and research and development as ideal sectors for Taiwanese collaboration.
  • Telangana leverages strategic connectivity via the HyderabadNagpur–Vijayawada Industrial Corridor and offers customized land parcels, plug-and-play facilities and a skilled workforce to attract global partners.
