Overview
- Police will visit a victim’s home, hospital, crime scene or other chosen location to receive the complaint, forward it for registration, and provide the FIR copy on-site.
- The scheme covers offences against women and children, offences affecting the human body, property crimes, and cases under the POCSO, SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities, Prohibition of Child Marriage and Telangana Prohibition of Ragging Acts.
- Officers may record statements at the chosen location under BNSS Sections 180 and 183 while securing the scene, preserving evidence and commencing investigation.
- Jurisdictional police or any officer in a Zero FIR scenario must respond immediately to telephonic or oral reports in the specified categories and initiate on-site procedures.
- FIR copies will be delivered by email, WhatsApp or hard copy, supporting a victim‑centric shift intended to reduce trauma and speed access to justice.
