Overview
- Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy instructed officials on Saturday to prepare a comprehensive Child Online Safety Framework to protect children from cybercrimes and improve their access to justice.
- The framework is to be drafted in consultation with the Telangana High Court and the Telangana State Legal Services Authority so that responses focus on restoration, dignity and rehabilitation rather than only criminal conviction.
- The state pointed to existing supports that will feed into the plan, including Bharosa centres that offer police, medical, legal and counselling services, SHE-Bharosa Cyber Labs run by the Women Safety Wing, the CybHER digital safety app, and more than 3,000 trained Child Protection Officers.
- Revanth Reddy urged stronger parental engagement and public awareness of helplines 1930 for cybercrime and 1098 for child welfare as key prevention tools for families and schools.
- The announcement, made at the NALSA South Zone Regional Conference where senior judges and the Union Minister of State for Law and Justice attended, also included launch of a TGSLSA Freedom from Bonded Labour legal‑aid scheme and left the framework’s timeline and concrete legal provisions unspecified.
