Telangana Orders Comprehensive Child Online Safety Framework

The order asks the High Court and State Legal Services Authority to draft a framework integrating helplines, Bharosa centres, school programmes, rehabilitation pathways, legal aid, policing protocols.

Overview

  • Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed state departments on Saturday to prepare a comprehensive child online‑safety framework in consultation with the High Court and the Telangana State Legal Services Authority.
  • The instruction came at a two‑day South Zone conference on justice for children in cyberspace that convened senior judges, NLSA officials and the Union Minister of State for Law and Justice.
  • Officials said the framework will build on existing state systems such as Bharosa centres, Child Protection Units, India’s first Child Friendly Court, the CybHER app and training for over 3,000 Child Protection Officers.
  • Speakers emphasised prevention plus post‑incident care, urging parents to know helplines 1930 for cybercrime and 1098 for child help and calling for continuous legal support and rehabilitation for victims.
  • The CM also launched the TGSLSA Freedom from Bonded Labour scheme 2026, and conference recommendations are expected to guide how Telangana and other states align prevention, investigation, legal aid and reintegration.
