- Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy formally inaugurated MCR TIMS Sanathnagar on Monday, and the Health Department says the facility has secured all 17 statutory licences required to begin operations.
- The campus covers 53.30 acres with 11.68 lakh sq ft of built space and a reported project value of ₹1,126 crore, and the hospital includes 1,082 beds with 300 ICU beds and 15 major operating theatres.
- The government has sanctioned 2,360 staff posts for the hospital and plans to position TIMS as a Centre of Excellence in cardiac, renal, transplant and trauma care while dedicating beds for medical tourism.
- Opposition BRS leaders have accused the state of opening only outpatient services at launch and of claiming credit for projects begun under the previous administration, leading to an immediate political dispute.
- The chief minister pledged to finish Osmania, Alwal, LB Nagar and Warangal hospitals by December 9, 2027, and officials say incentives for doctors and commissioning of equipment will determine how quickly full in‑patient services reach patients.
