Telangana Moves to Reclaim 50 Acres From MANUU Citing Non‑Use

Overview

• The Rangareddy district administration issued a show‑cause notice seeking resumption of 50 acres from Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Manikonda as unutilised land.
• An April 4, 2025 order by the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration cites Rule 6 of the Telangana Area Alienation of State Land Revenue Rules, 1975, and directs the land be held by the district collector for other public services.
• MANUU received 200 acres in 1998 and has developed about 150 acres, with the remaining 50 acres vacant and flagged by the government as not put to use.
