- Two‑wheelers, three‑wheelers including e‑rickshaws, goods and passenger vehicles, buses, tractors, trailers, construction equipment and harvesters must carry approved reflectors, reflective tapes and rear marking plates.
- Only products conforming to AIS 057, AIS 089 and AIS 090 and meeting CMVR norms will be accepted.
- A QR‑based Management Information System will authenticate materials and installations to block counterfeit or substandard products.
- The Transport Commissioner will empanel OEMs that submit valid test reports and Conformity of Production certificates, with foreign firms required to operate through registered Indian subsidiaries.
- Factory‑fitted compliant materials are exempt from QR checks, and violations draw penalties including police cases for false certificates, forfeiture of bank guarantees, legal action and potential revocation of empanelment.
