Overview

• The Telangana Junior Doctors Association has called the action to press demands for three months of unpaid stipends and implementation of the January stipend hike under GO Ms. 59 alongside facility upgrades.
• Senior residents represented by the Telangana Senior Resident Doctors Association will join the withdrawal of services starting July 1.
• Government hospitals have canceled staff leave and set up emergency cover teams to ensure critical care continues during the strike.
• Doctors have highlighted acute shortages of clinical and para-clinical faculty and long-pending scholarship and fee reimbursements for SC, ST, BC and minority students.
• Meetings with Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Director of Medical Education Dr A. Narendra Kumar failed to resolve the disputes before the strike deadline.
