Telangana Government to House All Homeless Poor in Three-Phase Indiramma Drive

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has directed district collectors to accelerate the scheme with assured weekly funding, material subsidies and integrated welfare and disaster resilience measures

Overview

  • All homeless poor in Telangana will be provided Indiramma houses in three phases, including completion of unfinished double-bedroom units inherited from the previous administration.
  • The government will release funds every Monday and supply 40 metric tonnes of free sand per sanctioned house regardless of fiscal constraints.
  • District collectors must expedite beneficiary identification, sanction and construction monitoring and cancel any ineligible allocations during the process.
  • Newly formed district-level price control committees will regulate the cost of steel, cement and bricks used in housing projects.
  • The rollout includes free electricity up to 200 units, LPG refills at Rs 500, subsidized rice and free women’s bus travel, alongside coordinated flood-response planning in Krishna and Godavari basin districts.
