Overview

  • State cabinet has approved a seven-member panel led by former Central Water Commission chairman AB Pandya to reassess structural safety and guide KLIS barrage restoration.
  • Repair works at the Medigadda barrage have been on hold for over 18 months, causing Godavari water to overflow into the sea and threatening this year’s farming season.

  • Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy insists the NDSA findings reveal serious design, construction and maintenance flaws in the lift irrigation scheme.
