Overview
- The Telangana government issued GO 1806 late Thursday, finalizing the GHMC’s expansion to 300 wards up to the Outer Ring Road and reorganizing administration.
- Senior IAS officer Jayesh Ranjan was appointed Special Chief Secretary for Metropolitan Area and Urban Development, replacing Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao’s additional charge.
- Ranjan retains full additional charge of Youth, Tourism, Culture and Sports and Director of Archaeology, while the Chief Secretary continues to hold the Industry & Investment Cell and SPEED.
- New GHMC zonal commissioners were posted for the expanded limits, including Serilingampally (Bhorkhade Hemant Sahadeorao), Kukatpally (Apurv Chauhan), Qutbullapur (Sandeep Kumar Jha), Khairatabad (Priyanka Ala), and Uppal (Radhika Gupta, retaining her FAC as additional collector, Medchal–Malkajgiri).
- As part of a broader IAS reshuffle, M. Haritha was named TGPSC secretary, Priyanka Ala moved to Rajanna Sircilla collector, Garima Agrawal continues as FAC collector there, and postings included Bhavesh Mishra to FAC additional CEO of the Investment Cell and SPEED and E.V. Narsimha Reddy to MD of MRDCL.
