Overview
- The Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department ran a coordinated special drive from June 12–21 that resulted in 841 cases and 651 arrests across the state.
- Officials seized 3,191 litres of illicit country liquor, destroyed 64,435 litres of jaggery wash used to make gudumba, and confiscated 8,377 kg of jaggery during the operation.
- The department also seized 362.72 litres of non-duty paid liquor with Ranga Reddy district recording the largest NDPL haul of 206.56 litres and 119 vehicles were taken into custody as evidence.
- Enforcement teams reported narcotics seizures of 114.32 kg of marijuana, 41 g of MDMA, 310 g of cocaine and 6.3 g of heroin alongside the liquor actions.
- The drive was led by Enforcement Director Avinash Mohanty and coordinated by the STF, enforcement wing and district task forces with Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Adilabad named as major hotspots and no immediate follow-up on prosecutions reported.
