Overview
- Telangana DGP C. V. Anand unveiled a package of CID initiatives that includes five volumes of standard operating procedures, a public tg-CID website, a Citizen Feedback Centre, the Bharosa survivor case-management platform, JRSS-enabled data sync and a Mobile Face Search app.
- The five SOP volumes set uniform steps for investigating bodily offences, property crimes, crimes against women and children, special and local laws, and other offences to strengthen procedure and improve chances of conviction.
- Bharosa links 35 women‑safety centres through a single digital case file that tracks each survivor’s journey from registration to counselling, medical care, legal help and rehabilitation and provides statewide live dashboards and standard reports.
- The Mobile Face Search Android app is backed by a database of about 980,000 photographs and is claimed to return facial matches in roughly 15 seconds to help field officers identify suspects, unidentified bodies and missing people.
- Officials say automated crime classification, JRSS analytics and a jail‑release monitoring system will help detect criminal networks, speed coordination between prisons and police, and make case data more transparent to the public.
