Overview
- Singareni Collieries reported ₹6,394 crore net profit for 2024–25, with ₹4,034 crore set aside for expansion and ₹2,360 crore designated as the distributable pool.
- From that pool, 34% (₹819 crore) will be paid as a Dussehra bonus, giving about 41,000 permanent employees ₹1,95,610 each and roughly 30,000 contract workers ₹5,500 each.
- BRS leaders and some unions dispute the method of excluding the expansion allocation from the bonus base and demand 34% of the entire net profit.
- Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the government is pursuing mining rights for the Sathupalli and Koyagudem coal blocks to bolster Singareni’s future output.
- The state highlighted SCCL’s diversification push, citing gold and copper tenders in Karnataka, the Naini coal block in Odisha, and PwC and KPMG engagement, while also seeking Centre compensation for an estimated ₹7,000 crore GST-related revenue shortfall.
