Overview

  • Heavy monsoon showers dropped more than 10 cm of rain in districts such as Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu and Karimnagar in the past 24 hours.
  • IMD has placed Medak, Sangareddy and Vikarabad on red alert and districts will remain on high alert over the next three days.
  • State government has released ₹1 crore to each district for immediate relief and committed to additional funding if needed.
  • Officials’ leaves were cancelled and ten senior officers were designated as special monitors to oversee relief operations.
  • Measures have been ordered to protect railway tracks, low-lying bridges and causeways, ensure safe drinking water, prevent waterlogging and manage urban traffic.
