Overview

• K. Srinivas Reddy, a Joint Sub-Registrar in Adilabad, was caught after taking Rs.5,000 to register a gift deed, and the cash was seized.
• In Vanasthalipuram, Sub-Registrar S. Rajesh Kumar allegedly sought Rs.1 lakh and accepted Rs.70,000 through intermediary K. Ramesh of Nagole.
• ACB officials recovered the Rs.70,000 from Ramesh and arrested both him and Rajesh Kumar following a trap based on a complaint.
• Reddy was produced before the special ACB court in Karimnagar, while Rajesh Kumar and Ramesh were presented in court and remanded to judicial custody.
• ACB said the Adilabad complainant’s identity is being protected and urged the public to report bribe demands via helpline 1064 or official social channels, with further investigation under way.
