Overview
- The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a disproportionate assets case against K Mallareddy, the district prohibition and excise superintendent, and carried out searches at his house and at several locations linked to relatives and associates.
- The ACB reported roughly Rs 3 crore in documented assets from the Mallareddy searches, including four houses, one commercial block, open plots, agricultural land, bank lockers, cash, bank balances, a car and a two-wheeler.
- A related ACB probe of Survey and Land Records deputy director S Narahari Rao uncovered two bank lockers in his wife's name holding about Rs 1.5 crore and led to Rao’s arrest and a 14-day remand after searches valued at about Rs 13.05 crore in detected assets.
