Telangana ACB Arrests Revenue Inspector, Seizes Over Rs 67 Lakh in Assets

Overview

  • On May 28, ACB officers apprehended Bhoopala Mahesh at the Musheerabad Tehsildar’s office for soliciting a Rs 1 lakh bribe and recovered Rs 25,000 as part payment.
  • The revenue inspector was produced before the Nampally special court and remanded to judicial custody pending trial.
  • The bureau detained Deputy Collector Vinod Khirolkar and assistant Dilip Tribuvan in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for allegedly demanding a Rs 5 lakh bribe, then recovered Rs 13.06 lakh cash, 589g gold and 3.5kg silver from Khirolkar’s residence, assets collectively worth Rs 67.45 lakh.
  • These actions extend a sustained graft crackdown that saw the CBI detain Income Tax Commissioner Jeevan Lal Lavidiya on May 11 and the ACB arrest Police Inspector L. Balu Chowhan in January.
  • ACB Director-General Vijay Kumar warned public servants about fake calls soliciting payments and urged them to report any such extortion attempts through official channels.
