Teens Arrested for Killing and Eating Beloved Swan, Stealing Cygnets

Three teenagers were arrested for killing a mother swan named Faye and eating her, as well as stealing her four babies in Manlius, New York.
Faye and her mate Manny were donated to the village over 10 years ago and have become a symbol of the town.
The teens claimed they thought Faye was a duck and did not realize she belonged to the village.
The cygnets have since been recovered and placed in the care of a biologist while Manny will be relocated.
The teens have been charged with felony grand larceny and criminal mischief, as well as misdemeanor conspiracy and criminal trespass.
