Teenagers Charged Over Suspected Chemical Attack at London Train Station
Two boys, aged 14 and 16, are accused of possessing a corrosive substance after an incident that hospitalized two officers and disrupted train services.
- The incident occurred at Surbiton railway station in southwest London on Friday at approximately 4:20 PM.
- British Transport Police officers approached the teenagers after observing suspicious behavior and were exposed to a substance believed to be alkaline.
- Two officers were hospitalized for treatment but have since been discharged; seven additional officers were assessed by paramedics at the scene.
- The teenagers, who cannot be named due to their age, were arrested and charged with possession of a corrosive substance in a public place.
- The suspects are scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on December 2, 2024.
