Teenager Thomas Wei Huang Sentenced to Life for School Hammer Attack

The 17-year-old, previously unnamed due to age restrictions, attacked classmates and a teacher at Blundell's School, Devon.

  • Thomas Wei Huang carried out the attack using three claw hammers while wearing only boxer shorts.
  • The incident took place at Blundell's School in Tiverton, Devon, in June of the previous year.
  • Two students suffered serious injuries, including skull fractures and permanent brain damage.
  • Housemaster Henry Roffe-Silvester was also attacked but has since fully recovered.
  • A High Court judge lifted the anonymity order, allowing Huang to be named publicly after his sentencing.
