Teenager Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of 80-Year-Old in Leicestershire Park

The 15-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl face trial in February for the death of Bhim Kohli, who died following an alleged assault while walking his dog.

  • Bhim Kohli, an 80-year-old grandfather, died on September 2, a day after sustaining serious injuries in Franklin Park, Braunstone Town.
  • A 15-year-old boy, who was 14 at the time of the incident, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and manslaughter.
  • A 12-year-old girl, also charged with manslaughter, has not yet entered a plea and was granted conditional bail until the trial begins.
  • The trial for both youths is scheduled to start on February 17, 2025, at Leicester Crown Court, presided over by a High Court judge, and is expected to last up to six weeks.
  • Kohli's family described him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family.
