Teenager Noma Noha Akugue Reaches First WTA Final On Home Soil In Hamburg

German teenager Noma Noha Akugue reached the final of the Hamburg European Open in her hometown on her first main draw appearance.
Akugue, who received a wild card, credited advice from Andrea Petkovic and Barbara Rittner for her success.
In the final, Akugue will face 32-year-old Dutch player Arantxa Rus, who will also be playing her first singles final.
Top-seeded Casper Ruud was upset in the Hamburg men's tournament, with Arthur Fils and Zhang Zhizhen reaching the semifinals.
The Hamburg final will be the first between two left-handed players on the WTA Tour since 2018.
