Overview
- Emergency services were called about 4:30pm Saturday to the stretch between Zeehan and Rosebery on the Murchison Highway.
- Police said a red Honda ATV collided with a Mitsubishi Triton ute on Tasmania’s west coast.
- A 15-year-old girl from interstate and a 38-year-old Rosebery man, who were on the ATV, died at the scene despite first aid from passing tourists.
- The 40-year-old ute driver was uninjured and will undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
- Tasmania Police reopened the highway overnight, are preparing a report for the coroner, and are asking witnesses to provide information or dash-cam footage.
