Teenage Surfer Killed in Shark Attack in Australia

Khai Cowley, 15, was fatally attacked while surfing with his father, marking the third fatal shark attack in Australia this year.

15-year-old Khai Cowley was fatally attacked by a suspected great white shark while surfing at Ethel Beach on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula.
Cowley's father was present during the attack and a local surfer, Tim Philip, attempted to rescue Khai but was unable to save him.
Cowley was a talented surfer and a prominent member of his surf club, the Seaview Road Boardriders, and was due to represent the club at the Boardriders Battle in March.
This incident marks the third fatal shark attack in Australia this year, following the deaths of Tod Gendle and Simon Baccanello.
A GoFundMe campaign set up by Cowley's aunt to cover funeral costs has raised over $51,000, surpassing its original goal of $5,100.
