Teenage Patient Exits Moving Ambulance on M6 Slip Road, Treated for Suspected Minor Injuries

Officials have launched enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.

  • Lancashire Police said they received reports at about 5.17pm on 6 January that a teenage girl had fallen from the back of an ambulance on the M6 southbound-to-M55 slip road at junction 32.
  • North West Ambulance Service said the patient exited a moving ambulance, was treated at the scene, and was taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries.
  • No other injuries were reported, according to the ambulance service.
  • The slip road was closed during the emergency response, causing long queues, with all lanes reopening at about 7pm.
  • NWAS says it is working with Lancashire Police as enquiries into the circumstances continue.
