• Chicago police say a 17-year-old was shot around 3:30 a.m. while seated in a Dodge Journey at a red light in the 700 block of South Wells Street.
• A pedestrian pulled a gun, fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, and ran away, according to the police account.
• The teen was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with an arm wound and was listed in good condition.
• The shooter remained at large as of Sunday morning, and police broadcast a description of a Black or dark-skinned Hispanic man about 5-foot-4 with short hair, wearing a gray sweater and a maroon T-shirt.
• This was the fourth person shot in the Loop this year, compared with eight by this date in 2024 and higher counts in earlier years, CWB Chicago reported.
