Overview

• Spanish Fork officers were dispatched around 9:20 p.m. Saturday to Maple Mountain High School on a report of a stabbing.
• The altercation between juveniles occurred in a parking lot east of the school during the homecoming dance.
• First responders treated a 17-year-old with a leg stab wound at the scene before transporting him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
• A 16-year-old suspect briefly fled but was located shortly after and taken into custody, police said.
• The suspect was booked into Slate Canyon Detention Center on one count of aggravated assault as the case remains under investigation.
