Overview
- Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to 1224 South Wabash and found a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to her right thigh.
- Police applied a tourniquet before paramedics took the teen to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.
- CPD said the shooting followed a physical altercation during which a weapon was produced and a firearm discharged.
- Witnesses reported the shooter was a female security guard employed at the grocery store.
- Police detained a woman believed to be that guard less than an hour later in the 8100 block of South Saginaw Avenue, and no charging announcement has been made.
