Teen Russian Figure Skater Kamila Valieva's Doping Case Heads to Court of Arbitration for Sport

Valieva's positive test for a banned heart medication was revealed several months after she competed for Russia in the team figure skating event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
The World Anti-Doping Agency is seeking a four-year ban for Valieva and to have her disqualified from the Beijing Olympics.
Valieva and the Russian team could be stripped of the gold medal in the team event, leaving the US team as the new gold medalists.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing will take place from Sept. 26-29 but will not be open to the public.
The Russian national anti-doping agency is appealing for Valieva to receive only a reprimand, allowing her and the Russian team to keep their gold medals.
