Teen on Trial for Murder of 80-Year-Old Confessed in Snapchat Messages, Court Hears

The boy, 15, allegedly attacked Bhim Kohli in a Leicester park, later expressing regret and planning to flee before being arrested.

Bhim Kohli, 80, died a day after being attacked while walking his dog near his home in Braunstone Town, Leicester, in September 2024.
The 15-year-old defendant, who cannot be named due to his age, is charged with murder and an alternative charge of manslaughter, which he denies.
Prosecutors presented Snapchat messages where the boy admitted to the attack, expressed regret, and falsely claimed Kohli had pulled a knife, which was not found at the scene.
A 13-year-old girl is also on trial, accused of manslaughter for allegedly filming the attack, while another witness described the boy as known for causing trouble.
The boy was arrested hiding in a bush after telling friends he planned to go on the run and asking his mother for money and shelter.
