Overview

• The woman was shot just before 8 a.m. at West Chestnut and 11th Street while taking a child to a bus stop and was later pronounced dead at University of Louisville Hospital.
• A 15-year-old was taken into custody at nearby Shawnee High School and is being interviewed by homicide detectives about the incident.
• Investigators have not confirmed whether the fatal shooting is linked to a nonfatal Aug. 7 bus-stop shooting in the same neighborhood that led to dozens of charges against another teen.
