Overview

  • Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. on June 15 to the 3700 block of North Houston Street after reports of gunfire at a private gathering
  • Detectives say an argument between two women escalated into a physical altercation before an unidentified suspect produced a handgun and opened fire
  • The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Anthony Luis Rangel, who died shortly after being taken to a hospital
  • Two other attendees suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals, where both are expected to recover
  • Homicide detectives are leading the investigation and continue to seek information as no suspects are currently in custody
