Teen Charged in Violent Queens Street Takeover That Left Couple Beaten

The investigation is ongoing with more suspects at large.

Overview

  • NYPD arrested Justin Aguilera, 19, on charges including two counts of gang assault, multiple assaults, riot and trespassing tied to the Nov. 23 Malba incident.
  • Roughly 40–50 cars converged near South Drive and 141st Street around 12:30 a.m., with donuts, fireworks and a parked vehicle set ablaze, according to police and video.
  • Homeowner Blake Ferrer suffered a broken nose and ribs after confronting the crowd, and his wife was also struck before he was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.
  • Detectives impounded a suspected lead stunt vehicle, a Chrysler 300 recovered in Fordham, dusted it for prints, and used a separate suspended-license arrest to help identify Aguilera.
  • Police released images of additional suspects and increased patrols in the neighborhood, while city officials discuss speed bumps and other steps to deter future takeovers.
