The Crown opted against a preparation-of-terrorist-acts charge despite evidence of far-right motivation.

Overview

  • He admitted possessing a butterfly knife, stun gun, baton and crossbow, and to holding terrorist information linked to extremist manifestos.
  • Prosecutors told the court he expressed violently racist, far-right views and talked online about 'shooting up' his school and two others he named.
  • Police seized three crossbows with bolts, six air weapons, a samurai sword, six knives and a stun gun from an annexe at his parents' home.
  • While on bail with internet restrictions and referrals to Prevent and CAMHS, he obtained a new device, accessed extremist chats, and was remanded to Feltham, where a homemade weapon was later found.
  • Device evidence showed attempts to make 'cricket bombs' and downloads of manuals for napalm and a self-loading pistol, with prosecutors saying sentencing will follow at the Old Bailey.
