Teck Resources Shuts Down Part of Trail Zinc Plant After Fire

A localized fire has halted operations in one section of the plant, with no injuries or environmental impact reported.

Teck Resources Limited has shut down one of four sections at its Trail Operations' Electrolytic Zinc Plant due to a localized fire on September 24.
The fire caused no injuries and is not expected to have any environmental impacts.
The remaining three sections of the zinc plant continue to operate, along with production of lead and other specialty metals.
Teck is currently investigating the cause of the fire and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
The Trail plant is one of the world's largest facilities for zinc and lead smelting and refining, also producing specialty metals, chemicals, and fertilizers.
