Overview
- Tech3 announced on Wednesday that Senna Agius will move up from Moto2 to join Luca Marini for the 2027 season, filling the final spot and finalising the 22-rider grid.
- The team confirmed the signing only for 2027 and did not disclose the length or financial terms of Agius's contract.
- Tech3 boss Guenther Steiner said the club chose Agius for his speed, maturity and work ethic as part of a deliberate mix of youth and experience to tackle the new 850cc, lower-aero, Pirelli-shod era.
- The deal also preserves an Australian presence on the premier-class grid after Jack Miller's exit and is reported to support commercial interest in MotoGP’s new Adelaide round.
- Agius is a 20/21-year-old who rose via the Moto2 European Championship to Moto2 World Championship success, has multiple grand prix wins, and will join several other rookies entering MotoGP under the 2027 rules while one Honda seat allocation remains undecided.
