Tech CEOs Subpoenaed to Testify on Child Safety

Senate Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed CEOs of X, Snap and Discord to testify at a hearing on online child safety on December 6.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew are expected to testify voluntarily at the same hearing.
The subpoenas were issued after the companies allegedly refused to cooperate during weeks of negotiations.
X and Discord reportedly refused to accept service of the subpoenas, requiring the committee to enlist the U.S. Marshals Service to personally serve the subpoenas.
The hearing will focus on child sexual exploitation online, and the CEOs will be asked about their companies' failures to protect children online.
