Overview
- Thomas Maloney Westgård (cross-country), Cormac Comerford (alpine), Annabelle Zurbay (alpine) and Ben Lynch (freestyle halfpipe) will represent Ireland at the Winter Olympics.
- Westgård enters his third Games after a standout 14th in the 15km classic at Beijing 2022, becoming only the second Irish athlete to compete at three Winter Olympics.
- Seventeen-year-old Zurbay is Ireland’s youngest-ever Olympic alpine skier, set for slalom and giant slalom, and she qualifies through her Westmeath-born grandmother.
- Lynch, born in Dublin and raised in Vancouver, switched allegiance to Ireland last season and says a recent knee sprain should not prevent him from competing in Livigno’s halfpipe.
- The squad has assembled in Bolzano, with athletes dispersed across clusters—Predazzo, Livigno, Cortina and Bormio—and events scheduled from the February 6 Opening Ceremony through February 22.
