Teachers Killed, Students Critically Injured After Bus Veers Off Highway En Route to Band Camp

A charter bus carrying 40 students and 4 adults from Farmingdale High School crashed on Interstate 84 in New York.
The bus veered off the roadway and tumbled 50 feet down an embankment, killing two teachers.
The deceased were identified as band director Gina Pellettiere and retired teacher Beatrice Ferrari.
At least 5 students were critically injured, while the remaining passengers sustained various injuries.
Investigators believe a faulty tire caused the bus to crash and roll over into a wooded ravine.
