Overview

  • Lauren Oliver, who taught health and social care at Oasis Academy Shirley Park in Croydon for 12 years, has been barred indefinitely from teaching in England by the Teaching Regulation Agency.
  • In November 2022 Oliver rewrote and submitted a pupil’s coursework under their name, signing official documents falsely attesting the work as the student’s own.
  • The misconduct surfaced in June 2023 when the affected pupil informed the school principal, exposing failures in moderation procedures.
  • Her actions temporarily boosted the student’s grade and risked undermining exam integrity by bypassing sampling safeguards.
  • The prohibition order extends to all English schools, sixth-form colleges, youth accommodations and children’s homes, with a review possible in July 2027 but no guarantee of lifting.
